Stampede Track Club believes that it has a role in helping our athletes be better equipped to plot their course in life. We believe that athletes benefit if their track club has a program that provides guidance regarding how to achieve goals in life that are not necessarily related to track & field. Because of this belief, Stampede Track Club will provide a handful of opportunities each year for club members to visit with—and be inspired by—leaders from Dallas’ business, education, political and pastoral communities.
In addition, Stampede will ask each 16 year-old club member to inform the club about his/her non-track-related career goals. For those who respond, Stampede will arrange a conversation with someone in the same (or similar) career. Finally, Stampede will work with members with expiring eligibility that need letters of recommendation for college, trade school, entry into the work force, etc.
It is our hope that this process will give our athletes more information regarding their careers of interest, encourage them to think more about how best to prepare for their futures, and make them more competitive candidates as they pursue their careers.
